Sirius Programme 2nd Session from May to June 2014

sirius

In the first edition of Sirius we attracted around 1,700 applicants from 93 countries, and we selected 150 graduate entrepreneurs, who are now launching their successful ventures in the UK.

Some of our winners have already been covered by national and international media, some have already raised capital, and all are developing fast thanks to the guidance of our start-up accelerators. We are quite proud of what our teams are achieving, and we want to bring more talents like them in the UK.

That’s why we are re-opening the competition for an extra two months, from May to the 30th of June 2014. Applications can be sent to www.siriusprogramme.com

Nova School of Business and Economics will host Ilkka Taipale's Book Presentation “100 Social Innovations from Finland”, an event organized in collaboration with the Finnish Embassy, taking place on 2nd June, at 3.30pm, room A102.

Book Synopsis:

"One might wonder what a single-chamber parliament, dish drying cabinets and text messaging have in common. Or what the link is between maternity packs, xylitol, the sauna and free school meals. The answer is simple: they are all Finnish social innovations.

In Finland, as elsewhere, technical inventions have hogged all the economic limelight, but it is only recently that social innovations have been highlighted as the foundation of societal harmony, gender equality, free education, universal social security and parliamentary democracy, and the consequent social stability they create, have secured Finland's welfare.
This book, which is both serious and entertaining, presents 100 Finnish social innovations" Please confirm your presence here

Sofia Tavares Moura integrates the JLL departament of Corporate Solutions.
