The future begins

Every day someone like you, mindful and willing, joins us in this bold ambition of creating a top school based in Portugal to welcome the world and act upon it. This project is the collective vision of a community of insight and enterprise.

900 individual donors already joined us on building a brighter future. From those, 6% of Nova SBE Alumni got involved with the project and joined forces to invite their fellow colleagues and friends to embark on this journey.

The Classes of MSc in Finance ’11, BSc in Economics ’78 and MBA ‘89 are taking the lead on alumni participation rate thanks to the engagement and enthusiasm of their class representatives. It is remarkable how the alumni involved found on the project the opportunity of telling their stories, honor colleagues or discuss ideas to promote the growth of Nova SBE community.

The progress of this campaign is a milestone in the history of Nova SBE and of Portugal. €5.000.000 + have already been raised by individual donations but we challenge you to join us on building the future. With your contribution history can be made again: accomplish 10% of Nova SBE Alumni involvement by September 2018.

To celebrate this project we are pleased to welcome all the Nova SBE Community to visit the School of the Future and attend the “Hello Carcavelos” Alumni Party in September 29th (get your ticket here).

Welcome to the Alumni Club!

Today, we have a responsibility to be braver, to be stronger, to be who we are despite the World’s challenges – to do better.

We are a group coming together with a purpose - to create something bigger than ourselves - to look forward and improve people’s lives.

We are a diverse community of bold people committed to changing the World with the help of each other.
We are the goodhearted, the volunteers, the friends, the partners, the doers, the self-driven; we are the changemakers of tomorrow.

Let’s build a bright future together.

We aim to foster a lifelong intellectual and emotional connection among Nova SBE Alumni, between Alumni and current students, between Alumni and the school, and between Alumni and society.

With this mission, the Alumni Club is responsible for developing initiatives to promote the network of members and ensure their connection with the school.

As Alumni of Nova SBE, we belong to a proud and valuable community.

After deep reflection, with the help of McKinsey and steered by a group of Alumni, we decided to launch the Nova SBE Alumni Club. Nova SBE Alumni Club is governed by a Supervisory Board, responsible for the club’s guidelines as well as the election of the Executive Committee.

Meet our Supervisory Board of 30 Alumni, and the team of 5 Executive Committee members.
None of this would be possible without our network of Class Ambassadors. Meet them.

We are celebrating our Nova SBE memories together at the Alumni Party ’17 next December 21st.

You really don’t want to miss this opportunity to party and say goodbye to our beloved Campolide Campus.

Register and join the Facebook event. Make sure your colleagues are coming too!

Maria Mota Fernandes: collecting socks to help refugees in Calais

After finishing her undergraduate degree, Maria Mota Fernandes (Bsc in Economics ’12) spent a month volunteering in a refugee camp known as The Jungle, in Calais, France.

“Like the first 30 seconds at the camp, I remember I was quite scared and shocked at the conditions where those people were living…but took me 30 seconds to realize that I was there for them.”, said Maria describing her first contact with the refugees.

maria2After 1 month in Calais, Maria decided to change her field of study and she is now taking a Master Degree in International Humanitarian Action. Following her experience in Calais, she decided to create a solidarity campaign - Meia no Pé para Calais - to raise socks for refugees living there.

The former camp was demolished last year, but there are still people living in Calais (and aiming to reach the UK). At the moment, about 700 refugees are living there, and more than 120 are unaccompanied minors. The idea is to collect socks until September 20th and then take them there!

For that, they NEED SOCKS and financial support to travel to Calais.
