Mario Rueda, MSc in Management '09, an entrepreneur accepting challenges

The Polar Bear Pitching is a pitching competition, which gathers startups from around the world to Oulu, an innovative city in Northern Finland. The entrepreneurs have to give their pitches while standing waist deep in ice cold water on a stage carved in the frozen Baltic Sea.

Our alumnus Mario Rueda, MSc in Management '09, is one of the founders of the project Book a Street Artist and accepted the freezing challenge of pitching in an ice pool to create awareness for the project.

Nova SBE Alumni are sharing their stories

The largest meeting of students of Economics and Management in Portugal (ENEEG) is taking place at Nova SBE from 2nd to 5th of March. With more than 20 speakers and conferences, the initiative challenged Nova SBE Alumni to debate topics as entrepreneurship, international careers and globalization.

Inês Caldeira, BSc Economics '97, the CEO taking care of the Portugueses' beauty

At 35, Inês Caldeira become the youngest executive leader of a subsidiary of the L’Oréal group, a French multinational present in 140 countries with 82 thousand employees and a turnover of 25, 3 million euros. Before Portugal, Inês worked in Spain and France. She defends quotas for women and is surprised that the country, producing more “feminine than masculine talent”, has a residual percentage of CEO women.
